Lola was my first Asian doll. She is a little Volks Dollfie, and I thought she was a ball-jointed doll. Turned out she technically wasn't, but I prefer her scale and material. She's more of a jointed fashion doll, I guess.
Her name was

I got Lola (then Newbie) in the beginning of 2010. Her purchase date (and birthday) is January 18th, 2010. Her first outfit was my great grandmother's scarf with a hair elastic to keep it up. I did her first 2 face-ups with watercolor pencils, pastels, and a spray finish. It didn't show well, wore off despite the finish, and the spray finish made dust stick to her face. The poor dear!
She's had some ups and downs with clothes too. I have made some casual clothes for her out of scrunchies. Her most beautiful dress took a very long time, and came out lovely, but stained her body. Sadly, she looks bruised in some areas. Don't worry, I take very good care of her and don't abuse her! She looks amazing in her fancy dress, but her favorite is the scrunchy one.

Her personality has developed and changed a bit as she's been with me. She was first shy, then a bit more social after I got her her first ponytail, and some new clothes. She was kinda cheeky when she was solo, but became more mature when I ordered Gabby. Shortly after Gabby came, I decided Newbie was officially no longer an experiment, and I renamed her Lola. She has kind of an Asian Lolita feel sometimes, with a delicate manner.
